Welcome back to Calling in a Favour, this time with street photographer, social media person, multi-media wizard and all-around real one, Maxwell Schiano. As the man behind the popular Instagram account @Newyorkcityvibe, Max has been capturing the unique, every-day beauty of NYC street scenery for years.
In his professional life, he has taken care of Fact Mag and RBMA’s social media needs, taking viral portrait shots of Björk, Skepta, Dev Hynes, Earl Sweatshirt, Madlib & Freddie Gibbs and many more in the process. Most recently, Max has put out his first New York City Vibe zine, a celebration of NY’s iconic food carts. If you want to get a zine or print, head over to maxwellschiano.com. All net profits of the zine go to Street Vendor Project. For CIAF, Max tells Julian about his personal soundtrack while strolling through the city, going from Luke Vibert and Lone to Mach-Hommy to Coltrane.
