Calling In A Favour w/ Julian Brimmers & Frosty

Feb 28, 2019

Art Rock Art Rock Jazz Jazz Spiritual Spiritual Talk Talk

Mark “Frosty” McNeill is a DJ, radio producer, lecturer, sonic curator, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. He’s the founder of dublab.com, LA’s pioneering web radio that has spawned partner stations in Japan, Spain, Germany (you might know this much by now), and – very soon – Brazil. Besides being a tireless ambassador for transcendent sonic experiences, Frosty is one of the smiliest and most helpful people one could wish to meet in the global music village. We shall protect him at all cost.

For the inaugural episode of “Calling in a Favour,” Julian and Frosty talk about the dedication and ethos that carried Dublab from a student project (pre-social media and nearly pre-email, mind you) into one of the world’s longest running destinations for adventurous music on the WWW. Plus: Choice California cuts from Jack Nietzsche to Linda Perhacs and Drakeo the Ruler (Free the Stinc team!), and emotional guidance courtesy of LA legends Dam-Funk and Jeff Weiss.
